For as long as I can remember, I have been a dreamer and a writer, staring at the blackboard during a math class while re-plotting Cinderella and Aladdin tales, or hiding from our instructor during gym to pursue the latest story in my mind. At night, I was the one telling Mom the bedtime story after she tucked me in bed. 

As a teenager, my wish to become a doctor pushed me to study hard. I made it to premed but everything fell apart because of the sweet rabbit we had to dissect in the biology lab. Although it was already dead or anesthetized, the poor thing was so cute I couldn’t stab it with a scalpel and cried during the whole lab session. I ended up shifting to Pharmacy School but I never forgot my medical dream and indulged in creating gorgeous doctors and handsome specialists for my medical romance novels. 

My medical romances follow the genre of ER and Grey’s Anatomy, with the romance between the hero and heroine enhanced or conflicted by their close proximity in a hospital or a clinic. In my family we count nine doctors in various specialties and we hear a lot of medical jargon at holiday gatherings. When I need help for a technical scene, these nice doctors are always ready to share their medical expertise and proud to read the details they suggested in my books. Is it any surprise that half of my books include a doctor or two?
